VIScon 2018

This October, for the first time ever, we’ll be taking over ETH's entire Computer Science building (CAB) for exciting talks, engaging workshops as well as a lot of coding. VIScon is short for „VIS convention“ an event for all students interested in Computer Science to learn, to get inspired and to network.

To have the best of both worlds VIScon will combine a one-day symposium and a three-days hackathon, taking place in parallel.

VIScon is organized by VIS, the association of computer science students at ETH Zurich (VIS).

The registration for the first VIScon Symposium is open!
We will have amazing talks and workshops throughout the day with speakers from industry as well as professors from the department talking about what they are really working on. Whether you are interested in entrepreneurship or cutting edge technology - we have you covered!

We will also provide free breakfast, lunch and refreshments for all our attendees during the event as well as a networking apero after the event. We definitely made sure, you will also receive some awesome swag!

The registration for the first VIScon Hackathon is finally open! From October 5 to 7, 15 teams will design, code and hack in the CAB building. You can either register as a complete team for the Hackathon, or later be combined with other individual registrations to form a team. Alternatively you can find other interested people on the Hackathon-Tinder here [1].

The Hackathon will take place under the motto "A Benefit for Students". You vote for your desired ideas, which stem from a predefined pool of tasks. You are of course encouraged to briefly present your own ideas in your registration, which may be included in the final pool.

The wellbeing of the Hackathon participants is covered throughout the entire event, both culinarily with food and drink and technically through our in-house IT support.
