DISCLAIMER: This event is meant for Bachelor students in computer science. If you are just starting your master's, this is not the event for you.
What can you expect at the Ersti-Weekend? As the name suggests: Tips for starting your studies, a good number of your new fellow students to meet and lots of games and parties in the evening! Some professors will also give short, exciting insights into their lives as computer scientists.
Transport
In order to guarantee a cozy atmosphere and so that we all definitely get to know each other, we will move into a house in beautiful Wildhaus SG, which we will travel to by train and bus.
- Departure: Friday, 18th of September 2026 at the meeting point at the big clock in the main hall at 15:30.
- Return: Sunday, 20st of September 2026. Arrival in Zurich around 14:35.
- At the meeting point, make sure that you stand next to the people with the VIS flag (yellow spiral with the lettering "VIS"), because the AMIV and the VMP also travel to their ESW at the same time. And you definitely don't want to spend a weekend with them ;)
What to bring with you
- Meals are included in the trip. So you basically only have to take with you what you otherwise consider to be vital for a 48-hour weekend trip ... Note from the Organizing Committee: Leave your laptop and tablet at home. Trust us! (Especially since we cannot accept liability for things that are lost.)
- Otherwise you need a sleeping bag, clothes, toiletries, a towel and slippers, as shoes are forbidden in the whole house. Also be aware that at about 1,100 m above sea level the temperatures are not very summer-y anymore.

If you've made it this far, you're on the right track. The costs including travel and meals are 60CHF.
- Payment must be made by Wednesday, September 16th. otherwise the registration will be cancelled and the next one on the waiting list looks forward to their chance.
- You can either pay online or by cash by coming into the oVIS (E 31) in the CAB building and paying there.
