VIS x Microsoft: Inside Microsoft's Spatial AI Lab

Microsoft's Zurich AI lab is coming to ETH. Five short talks on multimodal search, image editing and generation, robot learning and agent-first devices will be followed by networking with the team.

How do you build AI that understands what it sees, creates and edits images, and takes action in the physical world? And how do you make it run on everyday devices? Researchers and engineers from Microsoft's Spatial AI Lab in Zurich will take you behind the scenes of what they're working on.

The lab is part of Microsoft's Applied Sciences Group (ASG). ASG is a research and development organization that builds the next generation of human–computer interaction by combining the latest AI with new hardware and new kinds of devices. We work closely with Microsoft AI (MAI) and with product teams to take research all the way into products used by millions of people.

The evening opens with a short introduction to ASG and the Zurich lab, followed by five short talks on our current work. Stay afterwards for pizza and networking: meet the team, ask questions and hear about internships!
