As every year, the Career Center is once again offering a professional development event this year. We would be pleased if many students take advantage of this opportunity and gain something valuable from the event for their future careers. This year, the following event will take place:

Career Misconceptions

In their career coaching sessions with students, the ETH Career Center regularly encounters common career misconceptions that graduates have about their entry onto the job market and their future professional career.

Some of these misconceptions are:

  • A wrong decision now will ruin my professional career - forever.
  • I need to follow my passion... (Help! I don't have one!)
  • Without a doctorate in my field I will not find a qualified job.
  • There is one perfect job for me out there... I just need to find it!

But are these beliefs actually true? Or could they be myths that are putting unnecessary pressure on you? In this interactive session, you'll explore what's really behind these common career fears. You'll discover how certain beliefs might be holding you back in your job search, and more importantly, how you can shift your thinking to move forward with more clarity and confidence.

So if you are in the final stages of your bachelor's or master's degree and want to polish your CV for the perfect internship or your first job, it's best to register right here. The CV Checks will take place on 23.02.2026 in the HG building.
