In order to guarantee a cozy atmosphere and so that we all definitely get to know each other, we will move into a house in the vicinity of Davos. To do so, we will rely on the renowned and legendary Swiss trains! 🇨🇭
If you have a Halbtax (half fare) or GA Travelcard (general admission), please select the option when booking. But be warned: if you select one of these without actually having it, your ticket won’t be valid!
Departure: Friday, September 20, 2024, Zürich HB (Main Station 🚉) at the group meeting point right below the big clock at 2:25 p.m. The latter is located just below the main dome, on the ground floor! (https://www.sbb.ch/en/travel-information/stations/find-station/shopville-zuerich-main-station/shops/shop-detail.html/geo-treffpunkt-884b) Please be on time as we cannot miss the train we booked. Due to construction works, we’ll be splitting into two groups. You’ll receive an email with your group assignment, so make sure you know which one you’re in!
Return: Sunday, September 22, 2024. Arrival at Zürich HB around 4 p.m.
At the meeting point, make sure that you stand next to the people with the VIS flag (yellow spiral with the lettering "VIS") because other student associations might travel at the same time. And you definitely don't want to spend a weekend with them, trust me ;) 😜
What to bring with you 🧳
Meals, snacks and drinks are included in the trip (and they will be good! 😋). So you basically only have to take with you what you otherwise consider to be vital for a 48-hour weekend trip ... Note from the Organizing Committee: your laptop is definitely not vital. In other words, forget about it! 🙈
Otherwise, you need:
- clothes 👕
- toilet bag 🪥
- slippers, as shoes are forbidden in the whole house 🩴
- the house is located at, 1500m above sea level, so make sure to bring warm clothes with you. 🏔️
- earplugs if you are a light sleeper 🛌
- your best board/card games 🎲 (this point is of utmost importance)
You DON'T need to bring sleeping bag, bed sheets, blankets and pillows will be provided!
Depending on the weather, we will go on a hike on Saturday. 🥾 As a consequence, please bring good shoes, preferably hiking shoes. If you are not too much of a hiker, don't worry: there will be several options!

If you've made it this far, you're on the right track. The cost of the weekend including travel and meals is 55 CHF.
Note that we insist that the event is dedicated to students STARTING THEIR MASTER this year 🙋♀️ As a consequence, if you are in your second year and wish to attend the weekend, DO NOT REGISTER online and contact aakkus@vis.ethz.ch. We will put you on a waiting list and reach back to you if we have available spots. 😇
