VIS x Huawei: Toward Extreme and Decomposable Scale-up Fabrics
Event start time 16.4.2026 18:15
Event end time 16.4.2026 21:00
At the Network Lab, we are redefining next-generation racks and SuperPODs at the limits of scale. As systems evolve toward larger packages, wafer-scale designs, and massive deployments such as SuperPODs, we explore how computing must adapt to support generative AI and AI agents—focusing on fabric-centric design, extreme scale-up systems, and the challenges beyond traditional architectures.
We highlight a shift from node-centric computing to viewing the rack and ultimately the SuperPOD as the computer. This vision emphasizes elastic, pooled resources for efficient scaling while addressing performance challenges introduced by disaggregation across package-, wafer-, rack-, and SuperPOD-level systems.
Realizing this vision requires a full-stack approach spanning applications, compilers, parallel programming frameworks, high-performance fabrics, Network-on-Chip, and chip architecture. This session provides insight into building and scaling systems at unprecedented levels and the innovations shaping future computing infrastructure.
