Workshops & Seminars

Event end time 29.3.2023 20:30

The Event:

Global trading firm Jane Street Capital is inviting you to participate in a unique estimation challenge called an Estimathon. This is a team-based contest that combines trivia, game theory, and mathematical thinking. Teams have 30 minutes to work on a set of 13 estimation problems, the winning team being the one with the best set of estimates.

If you’re interested in creative problem solving or you claim to have a good intuition, then join us for a fun night in CAB and see how you measure up against high schoolers, MIT undergrads or Jane Street’s own employees.

After the competition, you’re cordially invited to stay for free pizza, beer and non-alcoholic drinks to chat with your fellow opponents or the Jane Street people.

Jane Street has hosted more than 200 competitions already and is now offering this to ETH students as well.

Where: CAB G51
When: 18:30 - 20:30
